Hello! i will be more than glad to assist u.. first things 1st. check the type of modem do u use a, are using a cable model from a cable isp provider, dsl model or model router.. If u are using a cable modem from ur cable isp.. u need to mac clone the network interface card of your computer.. if you are using a dsl provide- it could be a pppoe or static ip addressinf, if pppoe u need to setup the username and password given to u by ur isp provider to the router or if its a static ip u need to check the ip address of you computer if its connected directly to the modem, how to check- click on start and then run, type incmd and it will give u the dos prompt, from there type ipconfig/all and it will give u all the details like ip address, subnetmask, gateway, dns server and u need to input it to the router on static ip addressing... i hope this will help..

It sounds to me that your PC is still looking for a manual connection to be made to the internet each time you want to go online. If you're using Internet Explorer then check the following out, go to the Tools menu, Internet Options, Connections, make sure your dialups listed are selected as 'Never dial a connection'. This will allow your PC to find a connection with it looking to dial out again, so should use your router from now.
