Cannon Gun Safe. It will not stay locked. It will take my code and open but won't lock. The handle manually locks but will open without putting in code. I changed the battery and it did not help.

Open the safe and remove the panel on the back of the door. Spray all the linkages and the solenoid with WD40 to lubricate all the moving parts. Operate the lock and handle with the panel off and the door open to check correct operation. The working are incredibly simple, battery, lock pad, solenoid and a handle.

SOURCE: I can't reset by keypad on my cannon gun safe electronic key pad

Hi,
First I would try the original numbers to see if you did change it. If the original numbers work then you need to start over. If they don't work then the new numbers you installed are there and you need to figure out what you punched in not what you meant to punch in.
Hope this Helps,

SOURCE: Brand new Sentury safe Csw3607 does not lock, handle stuck down.

I had the exact same problem... All you have to do is unscrew a long, skinny, silver screw on the inside of the door. This unlocks the handle and locking mechanisms. Would have been nice if that step was in the instructions!!! Good luck.

SOURCE: I purchased a new Sentry

(1) sounds like the interior lock activation screw is still installed. it's the long screw on the inside of the door with the yellow tag; (2) when entering the code, make sure the key is turned to the right; (3) after entering the code, make sure you next press the program button. enter the code wrong three times and it locks up for two minutes.
