My rca scenium has red flashing lite that blinks five times and won't power up

I have the same problem -- now it made a loud pop and just went completely black and only the sound will turn back on,... have you received any answers to this?

That's usually caused by a bad lamp. However that chassis is famous for having bad caps on the power board.
