I networked out office printer (Ricoh Aficio 2027SP) with my mac running 10.5 via the IP networking utility. It's able to make the connection, but it just spits out blank pages along with a few gibberish pages and will continue going until I cancel jobs on the printer. I have don't the obvious of restarting both printer and computer.
You need the Postscript option installed on the Ricoh and that is pricy
You'll need to download and Install the "PPD" installer for your Mac OSx here, if you haven't already done so:
http://www.ricoh-usa.com/downloads/downloads.asp?tsn=Ricoh-USA&path=http://support.ricoh.com/bb/html/dr_ut_e/rc2/model/x2022_27/x2022_27en.htm
..... then (assuming that your Copier doesn't have Postscript installed - most don't) browse for the printer, but be sure to select the driver version that points to "pxl", and not a "ps", or "pcl" driver. "PXL" is the only language that will work with Mac if postscript is not installed on the machine.
Good Luck. Please rate me.
Your machine requires the Postscript option installed in order to print from your Mac. The printer is printing gibberish because it cannot understand the postscript driver from the Mac. .
