A code 11 also means that it might not be getting any gas. On thr right side of the unit you will find a small door. open it up and make sure the valve is in the open position. If it is, you should contact your gas company to come and diagnose what is going on. The Rinnai is not a do it yourself fix it type of heater.

I think you will find the thermocouple or thermostat has gone this allows the gas valve to open and is a saftey device to stop the escape of dangerous fumes .. it looks like a long piece of thin copper wire approx 4mm thick and it extends from the main valve into the pilot light flame .. When the ignition is pushed and you hold your finger on it for a while this tells the the valve that the pilot light is lit .. conduction of heat along this pipe then opperates the diaphram in the valve allowing the gas to the burners the pilot light then ignites them .. if the pilot light goes out the unit will nort run ..
My advice to you is that even though you may be conversant with the heater .. they do tend to have all manner of faults occur when left in storage or if shipped ( jostling and bumping ) is to get a trained gas engineer to check it out it may cost a bit .. but a gas escape and the following reprocussions are far more exspensive and costly .. Also You may not be aware that if you do have an incident your house ,insurance may be null and void if no service documents can be raised for the correct servicing of a fixed or mobile gas Convector .. Code 11 is that the unit is trying to light but does not sense a flame after 5 seconds. Usually means you have run out of gas if you are bottled gas. Check your bottles are turned on if you are on LPG, you might need to change over manually. Have you anything else on gas?

Definately a gas supply problem. If it was an overheat you would get a different code. Error code 12 meant a flame was there but then went out. The code 11 meant tried to light but no flame sensed. Error code 12 on heaters and Infinites is nearly always a fault on the gas regulator at the bottles. Sure I recognise your company name from up in Queensland. As you might know we hae had problems with an oily residue in some regulators for ages. I am recommending going away from two stage regs and spliting them up with a seperate first stage and then a second stage. Bit more expensive by zero call backs.
