The most obvious problem here would be the Lens Cap. Is it removed? Information on the screen-- time and date, recording speed, etc., indicates the LCD is working-- this is likely a faulty CCD. The CCD is a tiny sensor in the camera that receives the image from the lens, like film in a camera.
