On HP Scanjet 8270 when I use HP Solutions to scan from I get a grey background and white border. It should have a white background and no border. I can't seem to get rid of these problems. Any suggestions? Thank you.

If LCD displays Error 06 or Error 09 , the TMA might require service

button once (see Figure 3 above). The TMA lamp should turn on (see Figure 4 above). If pressed a second time, the TMA lamp turns off (if TMA is detected).
NOTE:
The scanner carriage lamp should be off when the TMA lamp is on and should be on when the TMA lamp is off. The only time the TMA could not be detected is if the accessory cable is not plugged into scanner

i have the same problem. only after an upgrade of scanning software. can not scan in b/w as the page header is in color.
I recently updated the software as well and can only get a pure white background if I scan in black and white, which is not an option for colour documents. Any way to adjust contrast?

Same Problem here, and the HP Support had no solution, only to take back the Scanner... after many telephoncalls and e-mails.
I will never buy HP again.
