Why is there not enough storage when the device is apparently supposed to have 8GB of it?

Our 8GB Kobo broke and we got this Blaupunkt for the kids. Trying to download the apps they had before is impossible because there is not enough room. We can only get less than half of the apps they used used to have. Where is the 8GB storage it's supposed to have?

Error message 075-210 relates to the lift motor in the tray mechanism. The description from the manual states "Tray 5 Lift Up Sensor does not turn ON a spec time after Tray 5 starts lifting up. "

This is becoming a common problem as the machines gets older and is a simple fix.

Inside the tray 5 there is drive motor with lots of gears, it is the smallest gear that is slipping on the drive motor, this means the drive mechanism doesn't have enough power to lift the paper tray to the up position, so the error will appear.

The simple fix is to remove the small gear and put some epoxy resin inside it and put it back on the shaft, this seems to fix 95% of these problems. Just be careful not to get any glue on the surrounding gears or the driver motor itself. See the image attached to see where the small gear is located inside the drive mechanism.

How do I download apps onto this device?

The default on most tablets is to install apps to internal storage so the SD card does no good by itself. You can go into Settings>Applications and change the location for each app to the SD card. Likewise anything else you put on a tablet, particularly photos and videos get stored in internal storage. If you have taken a lot of photos and videos they can fill up your storage quickly. You can change this in the Camera app by tapping the settings icon and changing the storage option to SD card. You will still need to actually move existing photos and videos to the SD card manually or copy them to external storage and delete them. I would also change the image and video resolution in Camera settings to 640x480. This is plenty good enough for pictures you just want to look at on the device or share online.
