Sometimes, bits of food get behind the microwave generator mica cover and cause this EXACT problem they short out the microwave energy and spark. . It is NOT broken but DONT let this happen for more than a few seconds. !!!! You will see the Mica (looks like plastic) cover from inside the oven and will be on one of the sides.It looks oblong normally, It is actually transparent to Microwaves and is how they get from the generator in to the oven. Give it a real good clean around the edges or better still take it out to clean. and it should be fine

Normally the problem is not the spring, but a broken spring mounting tab on the door latch head (hook) assembly or the inner door panel.
If it's the door panel, it's usually easier and cheaper to use epoxy and some kind of hardware to fashion a new spring mount.
The door latch head (hook) is easy to replace or repair if that's the issue.

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the screws you need to remove.

Microwave_svc's site is awesome! I was able to get all the help I needed for a similar Sharp Carousel microwave. My bulb was simply loose in the socket base causing intermittent bulb lighting. Microwave_svc's helpful links got me to the service manual and, along with a nice set of "tamper-proof" screw compatible TORX bits I bought at HarborFreight, I was easily able to get cover off, remove bulb socket, tighten bulb, re-install bulb socket, button unit back up, and, voila, the light now works without intermittent blinking. FIXYA!!!!

The turntable system consists of the motor, the coupler, the turntable support with rollers, and the tray.
You can see and hear a video of how a turntable motor should sound when you rotate it by hand.
If
yours is not set to be off via the control panel, and it won't rotate
or it sounds like it's grinding, etc., you may have a bad motor or
plastic coupler.
To
replace either, you need to unplug power, then remove the bottom cover
of the oven. In some brands, you have to cut the motor cover off with snips, then use a
screw when reassembling it.

i just checked my R-3A36 manual to find out the wattage. it's 800 watts. i make pralines in my microwave. i am always asked for the recipe. so i needed to be able to tell people the wattage of my oven so they can adjust the recipe to their oven.
