I tried all the suggestions but nothing worked. The shutter did start working again but only until we got to one of our big school events, the cheerleading tournament, and it quit again. That was the end. I put it in for repair this weekend, $224.00, but have to have it soon for the next Chincoteague pony roundup for our website, www.wildponytales.com. Hated to put out the money but didn't see a choice. - MaelinI tried all the suggestions but nothing worked. The shutter is in the lens. Do you mean the mirror? If the mirror is locked up, was it done by selecting "Sensor Cleaning"? If so, it could be as simple as removing the battery.
