I need to replace my hose to my steamvac model F5842 can you help? Ordered a hose but I don't think it's the right one

Hi Chris,
Your Hoover SteamVac model F5842 needs the Hoover SteamVac replacement hose part number 40309007. You may find a link to the correct hose for your model below on our website:
Hoover SteamVac F5842 Replacement Hose Assembly
In terms of replacing the hose, this is an older style SteamVac, which attaches the hose to the front of the Dirty Water Solution Tank.
Here is are instructions on how to attach the hose to your machine:

I have a S3765 Hoover Wind Tunnel with a crack in the hose close to the cannister. I know wires run through the hose and that there are wire connections on either end of the hose. The replacement hose...

If the vacuum has been maintained properly and runs well it may be worth repairing. The hose is pricey but less than a new vacuum. Many new vacuums today, especially lower priced ones are very poor quality and don't last much longer than a year. It appears by the schematics of your model you can replace just the hose section or the entire hose assembly. Replacing the hose only would require removing the ends of your old hose and installing them on the new hose.

Part of the hose is torn. Do I have to replace the whole hose or can it be repaired ?

Which hose is torn? The hose underneath or the hose with the extension wand in the handle?

Where I work we can sometimes repair the wand hose, and the little hose undernath is usually a cheap costing replacement.

Our Animal DC14 hose unraveled, can we replace it?

Yes you can replace the hose youself. First buy the hose (through Dyson directly or google to see a list of online retailers). All you'd need to do is to unhook the hose from the bottom - you'll remove the canister/dirt bin and push the lower cord hook/cup off the back of the machine from the front and simply click the new hose into place.

Hose connection broken.

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
If you have a broken hose connection, and not knowing the brand name of the vacuum, I can suggest 2 things. If you have an electric hose, meaning that it is attached to a electric power head or power nozzle, some can be repaired depending on what was wrong, but most of the time you have to replace the hose, some pigtails can be replaced but if the electric connection is broken, you need to replace the hose. If it is a non-electric hose, you can use a shrink tube, or cut out the broken part and use a hose cuff to join them together, so just shorten the hose and screw back on the original ends. In either case you need to check with a local vac dealer. Or you can make a new hose with new ends and leave the canister @ the bottom of the stairs and go up with just the long hose, unless you have an upright then you have to make it the length that is on the upright. Or replace it with the genuine hose from the factory or use the ends from the old hose on the replacement hose. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

Vacuum hose replace electrolux how to

YOU DON'T SAY IF YOU HAVE THE NEWER HOSE OR THE CLASSIC ONE WITH THE STEEL TIP (BETTER DESIGN). IF IT'S THE LATTER UN-SCREW THE SCREW CLOSEST TO THE STEEL TIP,TAKE A SMALL SCREW DRIVER AND LIFT THE THE PIECE OF PLASTIC THAT WAS SCREWED DOWN JUST ENOUGH TO SLIP THE HOSE OUT.
WHAT YOU'LL BE FACED WITH IS SOMETHING I WOULDN'T SUGGEST CUTTING.
IT MAY BE MORE PRACTICAL BUYING A NEW HOSE. AN ELECTROLUX WILL LAST FOREVER,BUT YOU DO HAVE TO REPLACE THINGS LIKE THE COMBO DUST/UPHULSTRY ATTACHMENT. THE HOSE IS PROBABLY THE FIRST THING YOU WOULD NEED TO REPLACE BECAUSE OF AIR LEAKS. I'VE HAD MY OLYMPIA ONE FOR 27 YEARS AND HAD TO REPLACE THE HOSE ABOUT 10 YEARS AGO. YOUR CHOICE.
