Can't find activation code

Im slightly confused???

what was it you need your product code for?
You brought new maps, that need a product code to install?

Now tomtom say you need to buy new maps to get a new product code?

Not knowing how old your unit is I will be shooting in the dark, but here goes. Please tell me you did a backup as instructed when you loaded TomTom Home! If you did, then simply restore your previous maps from there. If you did not do a backup :( then you may have to wait until Tuesday to get in touch with customer service since holiday is upon us. The activation code is or was included in your original packaging that the XL came in. Good luck and always, always, always backup.

You need to contact either the place you bought the device or TomTom... probably the place you bought the device because they gave you a defective one. It should already have a map on it and it should ask you to "update" it when you login to TomTom home.
