Scroll lock My scroll lock feature isn't on, but the scroll bars on the touch pad are not working. It stopped after I had a new state drive installed on my computer. How can I reactivate the scroll bars?

On this page, choose your operating system and then choose input device drivers.

Then go ahead and download the synaptics driver for your laptop. This software is for your touchpad and should enable the scrolls to work again.

You say it has been restored so I assume that Windows has been re-installed. If so then it is probably using the generic Windows touchpad driver and you need to update to the specific touchpad driver. Go to HP Website and download the touchpad drivers.

that is already defective. you can not use anymore. not unless you replace it with new one.

Go to control panel then mouse properties and see if it needs to be reconfigured. Sometimes they just change on their own if you are using a mouse as well as the touch pad, remove the mouse (device), then reinstall the Synaptics touch pad software and try setting it up. You may have to turn on that function in touchpad control settings.You can reinstall the touchpad driver, be sure though that it's for your laptop's model.
