Touch Screen and Remote Problem

My touch screen is working 75% of the time, the other 25% it will not let you select random letters or numbers, it will select the letter or number next to the one you are trying to select. Using the remote was letting me work around this problem but now my remote has stopped working completely.

My screen appears to be failing as well, when trying to callibratem it fails. My remote still does work. Is there any fix other than throwing away a $1200 GPS?

My Remote would not work, but touchscreen did.

1. Select the option to "Reset all Settings"
2. Select "Turn off remote" on the touch screen
3. Turn off the 2620 itself.
4. Turn on the 2620.
5. Select "Turn on remote"

This caused my remote to resume working.

I just kept resetting my the calibration and the entire system. Finally my remote works 100%, so even though my touchscreen calibration is still off I can now put in everything I need to navigate with my remote. My remote was totally dead.
