Network windows 7

Hooked up the projector to the network. This can be used through the software provided and works fine. But we want to be able to use it with Windows 7 network projector tool, so that we dont have to install the software on any other machine when there is a meeting in the conference room (different laptops/desktops used). So using the software isn't feasible

SOURCE: Can the same Windows cd be installed on a laptop as on a desktop?

The answer is two fold.

1. The system can be installed on any number of computers using the same install disk.

2. Microsoft frowns on this because using it on more than one PC box is considered copyright infringement.

Also, some PCs come with install disk that contain only drivers for the PC hardware it came with. It is not a good idea to use this CD on another PC.

The only I can think of is the resolution setting that your T400 is putting out that your NEC does not like andcannot display, look at the T42 resolution when the NEC is hooked up to it and try to set it to be the same in the T400.

Using the driver disk that came with your computer, install the missing drivers.
If you don't have that disk, you'll have to download the drivers. Using a program like Belarc, determine what components are installed, search using google for Win7 drivers. Not a very elegant solution but it works.
http://www.driverstart.com/start705662.html might work.

SOURCE: connecting projector to laptop works

Your laptop should have a FN key and an 'F' key (The image on the key looks like two monitors side by side or it will say LCD/CRT) which you need press simultaneously to allow the laptop to send the signal out through the VGA port. Usually I have to repeat the process three times to allow the image to be presented on both the laptop screen and the projector. If this still doesn't work, go into desktop properties, advanced and unclick the square saying 'extend to..............' (sorry I can't remember the rest of the extend bit as I am in front of my PC not laptop and the settings are different. You should find it though.

Good luck
