I have had this problem. I can see some "gunky" buildup under the two large discs. I have had a repair man here previously. He serviced the machine and cleaned under the discs. Said to use vinegar in the future as preventative maintenance. I have been doing that -- running a hot water cycle with a large bottle of vinegar. It seems to help for a while but then the gunk comes back. Using bleach does not seem to help. I wash several hot water loads per week, warm and cold wash loads. I think this is a design flaw. I have never had this problem with a regular washer. I also keep the lid open always or I really have an odor problem.
There may be no need to take your machine apart! Any mouldy smell is usually due to using 'cooler programmes all the time, ie 30' or 40' temperature. What I suggest is get some 'Calgon' or equivilent to descale the machine of lime (from the water) & undisolved powder from the detergent. Put the machine on the hottest programme you have (usually 90') its best to do this with the machine emptyof clothes, you may have to do it a couple of times to get rid of all the gunk
PS. are you sure the smell is coming from the machine & not from the pipework at the back of the machine where the water goes out of the house? If a water trap is not in the pipe system this could be the answer

We have mold growing all along the rubber inside the opening of the washer, and we have tried scrubbing with bleach. It does not come out.
