Unable to clean50 brother mfc-j220

You need to do the following. Enter maintenance mode by pressing Menu * 2864 in less than 2 seconds. Press Stop and retry if you dont see the lights blinking. Then press, 80, 2864, 4460, 99. It should work, otherwise its a fault service station pump

Go Menu
Type in *2864
Type in 10
Code WSW00 shows
Type in 51
Code WSW51 0000001 will show
Try different values, eg change to 000000 or 0000010
BUT remember original code to get back to
To exit type 99

Unable to print machine error 51, brother mfc-5440cn

I got the error 51 once and it turned out the connector to the ink holder was loose so i put it in and error gone.If this not help you need clean the encoder strip.

I have an Error 51 on my brother MFC 5460 USB printer.

Hi There
1.Go Menu
Type in *2864
Type in 10
Code WSW00 shows
Type in 51
Code WSW51 0000001 will show
Try different values, eg change to 000000 or 0000010
BUT remember original code to get back to
To exit type 99
Also can try.
Solution:
· Machine off
· Switch on the machine while holding down the “menu”button until all the leds are flashing on/off. Now you are in “maintenance” mode.
· Press 80
· Press the “mono start” button several times until you see “purge: xxxx”
· Press “2783” in order to reset the purge counter. You will see: “purge:0000”
· Press the "stop" button.
· Press “99” to exit the maintenance mode.
