Runtime error program

Trying to install software for HP Officejet Pro 8000 wireless on Dell Optiplex GX620 running Windows XP Pro. Getting this error: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime Error! Program:C:\Documents and Sett... This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information. Initially I was in the middle of installing the software when I accidentally pulled the power cord out of my pc halfway through the install. I now get that error above every time i try to re-install the software. Since it never fully installed that first time, there is nothing to uninstall, or at least that option is not available to me. Not sure if this info is important, i downloaded the software and drivers from HP since I don't have a disk.
