I have the same problem, and the picture is lower than should be. I turned on the CCD clean function and the CCD sensor won't stay in place, it slides down a bit (which is why the picture is lower). I'm not sure how to fix this or even if I should attempt it.

Don't even attempt it as it's not amenable to DIY repair.

if you have a warranty then get it repaired. if you don't have any warranty left then contact Sony directly as they have a good track record for offering free out of warranty repairs to cameras with faulty CCD assemblies.
