Tv codes In trying to help my daughter with a direct tv problem, I recoded her Sharp Aquos tv & direct tv with new codes using an older Sony universal remote. Now nothing works. It went to analog cable & the direct tv box doesn't work at all when before it worked fine from the box before (the reason we were programming the universal remote was because the direct tv remote was broken.) Do you have any suggestions?

First of all, the change is actually goping from analog over-air broadcasting to a digital signal. Second, if you have cable or satelite, you don't need anything. The only time a converter is required is if you use rabbit ears or an external antenna. In your case, the TV DOES have a digital tuner so you DO NOT need a converter in either case.

You will prob. have to order a new original remote.  It has the options on it to change from analog to digital.  I don't believe there are any options in the menu or buttons on the tv that switch between the two.

I got a a sharp LC-32D43U and for my motorola cable box i use hte code 31 from jerrold, i take it from the manual and i got it tryin every single code unti i get one that works.

Actually, if your mac has the Mini Displayport connector, there is a $37 adapter you can use:

It will tie up one of your USB ports as well, which it uses for the audio signal.
