Communication Timeout Intergral GPS is set to use COM 8 port for hardware connection and COM1 port to talk to other programs, using COM 1 and having tried several other alternatives, unable to get navigation charts to pick up GPS signal, error code: Communication Timeout.PDA settings are NMEA 0183, Baud Rate 4800 in accordance with PDA handbook and chart software instructions. Unable to confirm COM8 was factory setting but other than that, what am I doing wrong?
Under connection settings switch off the "beam" - apparently there is a conflict between the IR beam port and one of the ports used by the GPS system. Has worked for me.
