Upper screen of ds lite has lines running through and when my son taps the console it disappears for a while and comes back.
Get a tri winged screwdriver (can be bought from www.whitedog.co.uk/catalog/nintendo-wing-screwdriver/p-1169.html) take the rubber pads off and undo your DS. Check the screen connections attatched to the speaker circuit board and the connections on the main circuit board. If the cable looks to have a slight crack in it or looks to be excessively bent the buy a new connector. (you can buy them from www.consoleparts4u.co.uk/nintendo-ds-screen-connecting-ribbon-cable-107-p.asp. Hope this helps :-)

my ds has same problem. it sucks because i just got my r4. there are like 4 vertical blue lines down the center of the screen. but they are invisible when black pixels are used there
