The plugs have seperated so need to find out what order they should be connected L-OUT L-RET R-OUT R-RET MIC-IN MIC-VCC GROUND 1 GROUND 1+D 1-D 1+5V

Let me know how that works out. The front panel guide is rotated 180 degrees however.

The header plug is 9 pins, 5 on one side and 4 on other. Orient the header so that the missing pin is lower right and the connection left to right on top row and lower row are as follows. If you have a shield wire, do not connect this as it causes instability if the ninth pin is earthed. If you have no markings on the wires, you can test from the socket. Orient with the pins up looking from front socket and left to right is 1,2,3,4 same as header.

there is two sets of 4 pin on each with an xtra ground you may not use.
Here is the link for your motherboard manual which shows the connections.
i.e you can connect your two sets of 4 wires to usb 1 or split them i.e 1 set of 4 on usb 1 and 1 set of 4 on usb 2.
