SOURCE: printer does'nt work

You printer is giving you an error code with its flashing coloyr lights. I would consult canons website and write down the exact colours it is flashing as this is a specific error code. Most likely it is a paper jam error or reading error. Before you contact them i would try resetting the printer by powering down, unplugging all cables and cord, replugging and turning on and retry print jobs. If no luck go to plan B, webesite, and find error code. I am sorry i have no deatils for this printer to give you the error code myself.

SOURCE: Canon i9950, Operator error,5 amber blinks

  1. Turn off Canon i550, i560, i850, i860, i865, i9100, i9950 Printers
  2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
  3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
  4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
  5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
  6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
  7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not, press the Power button once more.
  8. Your Canon i550, i560, i850, i860, i865, i9100, i9950 Printers should respond as normal.

SOURCE: Operator error. Press printer's RESUME button.

Start by totally shutting down your computer system, NO lights should be visible or blinking.Now completely disconnect all cables and cords from your printer. Remove the electric cord from the wall socket. This should totally clear your printer. Wait 5 minutes and plug the power cord into the printer first, then attach the printer cable that comes from your computer, then plug your printer power cord into the wall socket. Now cold boot your computer. It should recognize your printer and you should be good to go.

SOURCE: flashing orange light 5 times followed by green

I am also having this problem, would love someone to give us a solution before I through it out the window.....

Your printhead is faulty. You need to change it.

Howdo you fix an error message 5C00 on a Canon iP90 printer.
Try this to reset the error.

1) Close the print head cover, and turn off the printer. While pressing the Resume/Cancel button, press the Power button. (Do not release the buttons. The LED lights in green to indicate that a function is selectable.)

2) While holding the Power button, release the Resume/Cancel button. (Do not release the Power button.)

3) While holding the Power button, press the Resume/Cancel button three times, and then release the Power and Resume/Cancel buttons. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in either orange or green, starting with orange.) During initialization, the LED blinks in green.

4) When the LED stops blinking and lights in green, press the Resume/Cancel button the 4 times. (Each time the Resume/Cancel button is pressed, the LED lights alternately in either orange or green, starting with orange.)

5) Press the Power button. The LED lights in green, and the selected function is performed. (When the operation completes, the printer returns to the menu selection mode automatically.)

6) Power off then back on and test.

Install the correct print head
You can clear the errors in your printer in three reset procedures.

Reset it manually
1. Turn off the printer
2. Press and hold the Resume Button, an indicator light green
3. Press and hold the Power button
4. While holding the Power button, release the Resume button
5. While holding the Power button, press the Resume button twice
6. Release the Power button
7. Press the Resume buttons four times
8. Press the Power button to confirm the operation
9. Turn off the printer

Reset canon mp600 to factory setting (if the first procedure did not work)
1. Press the Home button
2. Use the Easy-Scroll Wheel or the right/left arrow to select Settings, and then press OK button.
3. Use the Easy-Scroll Wheel or the right/left arrow to select Device settings, then press OK button.
4. Use the Easy-Scroll Wheel (B) or the up/down arrow to select Reset Settings, then press the OK button.
5. Use the Easy-Scroll Wheel or the up/down arrow to select Yes on the confirmation screen and then press OK
6. Press the HOME button to return to the Home Menu

Final reset (If errors did not clear and or another error appears this will clear it)
1. Press and Hold the Resume button and wait until the printer self restart.
2. Release the Resume button when the printer restart
3. Wait until the printer fully initialize and try printing again.

That will solve it.

Canon printer error 5100
5100 seems to be a Carriage Home Position Error. Clean the plastic strip that runs the length of the carriage, it may be contaminated. Then load the tray with the blank papers.

Then reset the Printer: Following are the steps:

1. Turn off printer
2. Hold down Resume button and press Power button.
3. Keep holding down Power button and let Resume button go.
4. Press Resume button 2 times then let BOTH buttons go.
5. Green lights will flash and then stop blinking.
6. When green lights are solid, press the Resume button 4 times.
7. Press the Power button and the printer should turn off, if not,
press the Power button once more.
8. Your printer should respond as normal.

This should work. If not, install the Driver and Software from the Installation CD provided with the Printer.

Green light, followed by yellow light flashes 5 times, then green again. Print screen says operator error, press printer's resume button.

You can try not really know but it like your waste ink needs to be reset.

Start with the printer OFF

1. Hold down RESUME and then hold down POWER
2. Release RESUME
3. Press RESUME twice, then release POWER
4. Wait until print head stops moving
5. Press RESUME four times (if four doesn't work try three times)
6. Press POWER once
7. Press RESUME four times (if four doesn't work try three times)
8. Press POWER once

Repeating the RESUME/POWER code twice made the difference, the fixes I found wouldn't work because they stopped at step 6.

Select function with RESUME press POWER to execute:
presses - light color - function

Number of presses - light color - function
0 presses - green - Test print (or exit service mode on i960)
1 press - orange - EEPROM info print (plus grid nozzle diagnostic on i850)
2 presses - green - EEPROM initialize
3 presses - orange - Reset waste ink counter
