Hi. I thought I needed to buy a new webcam because the image became dark and I was unable to correct it in the settings box. Then I went on vacation for a week, with my desktop computer, but left the webcam at home. After my vacation, I downloaded a new version of Skype, which offered to set up my webcam. While setting it up I discovered to my joy, that it was working well again. Only it was slightly too bright. I should have left well enough alone. As soon as I tried to adjust the brightness, the picture turned upside down and it reverted to the privious darkened state. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Go into the display options and brighten up the picture.

Disconnect
the Camera from the USB port and reinstall the CD or Downloaded software
program. When the program asks you to connect the camera to the
USB port, do so and it should work.
Then to use it on the Web, do this.
Web Camera’s have to be
setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera
on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.
Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for
the Audio and Video to function properly.
A. Skype Setup:
After downloading and installing Skype (http://www.skype.com/intl/en-gb/download/skype/windows/beta/downloading/
) set it up as follows:
The camera and audio should function properly. Your
friends and Family will now be able to see and her to you.
B. Yahoo Setup:
After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger

Try this, while the computer is running, unplug
the camera from the USB Port , wait a few seconds and then plug it
back in. I have fixed several cmaeras that were upside down that had the same problem by doing
this.
