I keep getting a report "logs" from the machine which shows that about every two hours, for a duration of 4 seconds, an entry under "Status" as Code 19 and under "Notes" - Subscriber has stopped. This machine is rarely used and cannot understand why it is doing this.

Look in you menus. Your log print out is probably set to on and set to print out way to frequently. You can turn that feature off.
You can go to Xerox.com, click on Support and drivers. In the search box type in 116 then go to support and then type in Log, There should be an answer there as to how to shut off log printing. You cold also type in code 19 when you get to the support page.

The communiction was stopped by the sender. If a document was inserted in the document feeder but pulled out in the middle of a fax job, an error will come up. If this happens at the other end, if they send a fax but they stop the document from going in, the machine will sence it and send an error code 19.
The hard part about this is, one doesnt know what the other is doing on either end when sending a fax.
Also, if the paper tray is pulled out in middle of a fax, the machine can display a error code as this.
If the door is opened in the middle of a fax, an error code can be sent.
Any interuption of a fax can result in a error code, on either end.
It is in the machines software to funtion in this manner.
