The quick start guide says that I have to have a set-top box because I have Dish satellite. I called Radio Shack and they said they don't have that item but they have another one that would work for 30 dollars. Isn't there a way to connect this VCR & DVD player up without buying additional equipment?

    Thanks Jenny

We have an old TV with only the RF port. I went to Radio Shak and bought an RF modulator. I installed it as directed but cannot get the DVD/VCR to play on the TV though the DVD/VCR shows that it is playing.

When installing your DVP3340V/17, I discovered that you must set your TV on VH1 or some imput outlet via your Television manual. In other words, you must check the manual shipped with your TV to set-up this VCR/DVD for playing mode, for ex. ( set a Sylvania SST4273 on Game and your combo will play any VHS or DVD).

I use an RF modulator available from Radio Shack in order to connect my old TVs to much newer DVD/VCRs.
