On my averatec 3250 notebook, the wireless adapter tries to connect to the wireless router that it sees in prefered networks. It tries to aquire an IP address then cuts out, and tries again. It will keep this up for some time, but never succeed. This problem never happened before, just this past month. I have a linksy wireless router that is configured for wpa key connections.
Many thanks for your help.
Have you configured your wireless adapter with same WPA key that you had set on the wireless router?
Do you detect other Wireless routers in your area and are they using the same wireless channel as your router?
If so change the wireless channel on your wireless to an unused wireless channel to avoid interference with other wireless routers.
