Reason 3.0 is quite old now and may not be supported by some current OS configurations. Your best bet would be to uninstall it, reinstall and before launching the program, update it to the latest revision release from:
http://www.propellerheads.se/download/updates_reason3/index.cfm?fuseaction=displaymain
You may also have to right click the icon and select compatibility mode and set it to windows XP if running it on a PC. If you are using the MAC version, about all you can do is make sure you are running the latest revision.
Being you have an older version, you should be able to get a discount when ordering the latest online. Version 5 is packed with new features, I love it!
