Anyone know hoew to reset the lamp timer?

  • valerie11 Mar 23, 2008

Is there a way to reset the lamp life without the remote? We replaced the lightbulb but the message is still popping up!!! We don't have the remote though, is there another way to get into the menu or reset timer?

You need to enter factory Menu.

You do so by doing the following:
1).Start the projector.
2).Press keypad <Source> and <Auto> keys simultaneously, enter " Lamp Hour info" layer
3). Press <Source> and <Auto> keys simultaneously again, then enter factor menu.
Do not change anything till you reach Lamp Layer where lamp hour and usage hour is given. If you reset, then all data revert to default - factory reset. you may chage here or under (2).
Let me know if this solves your problem.

I turn on my XG-H400U projector and it turns off. I don't have a manual. It worked great untill this. Does anyone have a manual or any idea why this is happening?

Unfortunately, lamp hours is grayed out, and there is no way of accessing it. Also, there is no reset button on the remote control of this model (to my knowledge).

After replacing the lamp, you need to reset the lamp use timer.

The manual is a bit cryptic on how this is done.

The manual says "Fn. Up > Fn. Dn. > Vol. Dn > Vol. Up > Enter > Power" However, my remote has no "Fn" or "Vol." controls.

Further study of the manual shows that "Fn. Up" = joystick up; "Fn. Dn" = joystick down; "Vol. Dn" = joystick left; "Vol. Up" = joystick right; "Enter" and "Power" are keys on the Remote, "Enter being "6 o'clock" position on the ring encircling the "joystick"

I am calling the control that one would use to move the cursor on the screen the "joystick"

Thus to reset the timer, key in from the remote "cursor up" "cursor down" "cursor left" "cursor right" "enter" "power"
