Ok, I see alot of people with this problem. Live in Florida with comcast wired internet connected to our PC. Unpluged the the ethernet cable and inserted cable from PS3. Tried set-up both the "easy way" and manual. The easy way wont even find the IP address. System finds the IP address but not DNS and gives error code...(manual) My kid is freaking out and so am I. I am also going to get a router. Guess I need one if the wife wants to get online with PC and kid want to play PS games at same time.
Please help!!! also what kind (brand router) is recommended???
I know this is alot of info (or maybe not enough) sorry!!!

You need a direct wired connection to the psr3 to aquire an ip address i suggest a linux router and obv it has to be wireless and what you do is go 2 scan and just hit automatic for everything and it should automatically do everything 4 u
