i have a dell with a maxtor (ata harddrive)i would like to know if i can put a seagate barracuda (sata harddrive)if so what do i have to do thanks for all your help

Hi,

Looks like it will be a motherboard issue not Maxtor (ATA) and Barracuda (SATA) combination. So the question really would be if your motherboard would accept and recognize the Barracuda SATA.

Post back with your motherboard details, (brand/model/version).
