After installing a new black ink cartage and running automatic alignment, I got "The printer could not be automatically aligned" error message. After several times of re-seating the cartage, rerunning the alignment and head cleaning routines, the problem still persists.
If I print a letter, the black is almost not present at all on the first line and as lines progress down the page, black starts becoming visible on the right and by 1/3 the way down the page it is visible across the entire line.
This is the case with every single page letter I print. But if I print a multi page letter, the second page only has a very slight problem in the upper left corner and the remaining pages are OK.
Your balck ink printhead is clogged with buit up ink. Manually clean it with cotton buds and proper cleaning solution, right doen where cartridge sits and the contact area the ink part of cartrigde contacts. Try printing now. Did you reset ink levels too?
