I'm sorry to say, but hte previous response is incorrect. Tracking is controlled electronically and mechanically. The mechanical adjustments are made to parts called "guide posts". These are the parts that pull the tape out of the cassette and around the video heads. These can get out of adjustment over time. Using an oscilloscope and an alignment tape, adjustments can be made to get this back into proper alignment. This is a simple task if yu have the correct equipment.
If you are indicating that you can not adjust the tracking at all (electonically), look for either a knob (behind a front panel door) or a +/- push button set marked tracking on the front of the unit. I don't recall which version your specific model has.

Tracking is due to rubber belts and tires being worn, look inside and replace. PRB BELTS.com google it. this can be a tricky problem if you haven't done it before.
