Crescent tool is missing---what can i use instead

It is a jack la lanne power juicer and was giving to me without a crescent tool..do i have to order the part or can something be used instead

Just find a big wire around 1/8 diameter. Bend it and insert both ends on the blade holes. Cover the sharp blade with cloth or use leather gloves.
