I had the same problem. My issue was that the All in 1 software was not starting up upon boot (lower right hand side of Windows screen). Once I fixed that, the problem is resolved.
Many issues are caused when the HP All-in-One is connected to the computer using a USB cable before the HP All-in-One software is installed on the computer. If you connected the HP All-in-One to your computer before the software installation screen prompts you to do so, you must follow these steps: Troubleshooting common setup issues 1. Disconnect the USB cable from the computer. 2. Uninstall the software (if you have already installed it). 3. Restart your computer. 4. Turn off the HP All-in-One, wait one minute, then restart it. 5. Reinstall the HP All-in-One software. CAUTION: Do not connect the USB cable to the computer until prompted by the software installation screen.
Please use the following link to HP's website to see the entire how to manual for your office jet 6310. I hope this is what you are lookging for.

Hi old novii, sorry to but in but I had bigmountain on chat.
Hi again Bigmountain, pls download the patch here. If that still does not work uninstall as we have discussed and download/install the new drivers/installers here. So even if your CD is not working, it should still go through with the installation. Please, pls follow installations/on screen instructions.
Hope this be of additional help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.

When trying to scan, ta "No scanner options" message appears on the All-In-One screen.

When I try to scan and press the"hit scan" button, I get the message "no scan options" and "refer to documentation to troubleshoot", then press "ok"; nothing works - what do I do now?

I can't set up the scanner. When I push the scan button it says, "No scan options - refer to device documentation to troubleshoot. Press ok."
same problem for me - it used to scan - now it won't.
Robin
The scanner does not respond to the scan button except to say it will not find a computer.
