Is a 3 1/2 ton air handler too big for a 2 1/2 ton air conditioner? air conditioner  FT3BA 030KA air handler  B3BV 042k BB Also duct work in garage has a gap bringing in air from garage.

yes and that's dangerous as fumes and exhaust may enter the house
