Low level format

I was using windows xp media player with the mp3 player connected then I accendently disconnected the usb cable from the computer to the player. Then upon powering up the player it froze at the samsung logo and would not power off. I then tried the rec menu buttons and was able to power off but the problem remained. I tried draining the battery to clear memory but that did nothing. Now the player will not charge the battery. I'am able to power up through the usb port and obtain a low level format page by pressing the right keys but it asks for keycodes to proceed or else reset with rec and menu keys. Does anyone know the correct procedure to low level format and reinstall the firmware on this player?

You need to punch in sequence of buttons: left+left, right+right, up, center, down This will make you to format the device completely. Once the format is done, you need to reset the player by pressing Record and Menu, both at the same time. Then turn the player ON, it will display message "USB device", that means, player has nothing on it and it is working as mass storage device only. Now you need to download the firmware from www.samsung.com and transfer two files MUON.ROM and SYSDATA.bin to root. Again reset the player by above mentioned sequence. turn the player on, and now you are back in business. Have a wonderful day. Enjoy Samsung player. Samsung rocks. - CHAMP

It may be helpful to know that you have to switch the YP-T9 off using A-B with MENU then hold down A-B and turn it on with the power button. Then use the LEFT, LEFT, RIGHT, RIGHT, UP, MIDDLE, DOWN sequence. After the reformat move the MUON.ROM and SYSDATA.BIN onto the empty USB drive. Power off with A-B and MENU and then power on normally.
