How do i remove the headset from a diamond back topanga mountain bike? Is it screwed in or press fit? If screwed in, is it a right or left hand thread?
Loosen bolts on side of stem then take bolt all the way out of top. slide it up and make sure you take each washer or spacer off but keep them in order it came bike so you can put them back together.its not pressed in or threaded it should say a-headset on it so the tube the stem is attached to is the top of fork. tap that fork with rubber mallet and it should fall straight down off bike.
SOURCE: cannot get my left hand gear to shift
see mine did that but i used 2 hand and turned really hard if that dont work it could be rusted
SOURCE: is the shaft that holds the clutch in right hand
it is probably right hand thread, but will have a lock tab to stop it coming undone.
SOURCE: got a diamond back mountain bike frame both crank
You need a bigger hammer or the right tool.
