startup problems

When I try to startup my mac it doesn&#39;t start. The screen turns white . The buffering clock winds but nothing else .

Restart from your restore disc or use Disc Warrior. Allow Disc Warrior to repair your HD.
Or zap the p-ram on restart b y holding down the Apple, Option, P and R keys after the chime. Wait for four more chimes and release.
