If the CPU temperature isn't too hot then just go into the Bios and disable the CPU temperature monitor option.

You should still be able to connect the 3 pin connector of the fan to the 4 pin connector on the mobo, the keying tab is offset so that you cannot connect it to the wrong pins.
If you still don't want, or can't connect it there, simply go on the Bios (press delete after you turn on your computer) and you will find an option to monitor CPU fan speed.
