This was happening to my boombox and I installed a 12 volt 1000ma power cord to the unit and that stopped.
I called them and their suggestion was to keep it on till it finally kicks over and then reset to factory defaults. I did finally kick over and I tried this to no avail. They told me I would have to replace it at $39.95 cost. This is my second unit this has happened to me with. Their products seem to be very cheaply made and only work till the warranty expires.
Damn, i just got this problem this morning. It worked fine at the house, i powered it off, removed it from the cradle then put in my backpack. I get to work, pop it in my boombox and this keeps happening... :( unfortunately my other is a car version so i can't use it in the house.
I have the same problem, when I contact Xact (through e-mail) they said that the unit would have to be replaced. They didn't say that THEY would replace it, but said it had to be replaced.

my xtr1 goes to the screen with the dog on it, stays amber for a few seconds than shuts down and restarts to the dog screen. Is there something I can do to reset it so it works?
My sirius XTR1 (XACT) keeps powering on and off by itself. I have tried using different cradles for home and the car but still keeps doing it. I had the same problem in the past (one time) but it got fixed by itself.
Same problem as others seem to be having: Radio worked fine for almost 3 yrs. then suddenly stops--screen comes on with Siruis logo, then cycles on and off about every 15-20 sec. I had no luck contacting Xact, either by phone or email. I have a strong suspicion this company is scamming people by deliberately making radios that break down quickly.
