What OS, XP? we can't help you if you can not at least tell that.fact. the XP is infected,. re-Install XP with SP3.? do that yet (fill in OS name here xxxxxxxxx) XP is dead, and not supported and will re-infect fast. no game stated, (online offline, what>?) a web only game? surely we cant guess 10,000 games here. endless. the best answer is install windows 7 every day you use XP online , it will get more easily infected (read the world news ,see that ransom deal) xp is dead. NOW. NEWS FLASH VISTA WENT DEAD THIS YEAR.

SOURCE: slow boot up

spysweeper could be the problem, as it may be checking over the system before the pc is allowed to run, also if you have got more than one antivirus if any (hope you have!) or spyware programmes, they all use up system resources reducing your memory and processor speed, check what you have installed.

Remember, some trojans cannot be found by some lower end anti virus programmes, and can only be found by decent spyware programmes.

Also if possible run any antivirus and spyware programme in safe mode, to allow you to run it faster (F8 on boot up and choose safe mode)

SOURCE: i am trying to download

there are minimum system requirements that are listed on every game. Your processor may be too slow, the graphics card too old, HDD too small, or lacking in the memory department.

SOURCE: i get a message saying

Uh oh. Your hard drive is about to crash. I would back up important pictures, music, and documents as soon as possible and get your computer to someone who can image the drive to a new drive before it crashes completely.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks,

Jason

IF it is HP PC than you can simply go ahead a reload the factory settings in the OS from the Recovery partition without the help of the CDs. Every HP pc have a separate partition where the image of the entire OS is loaded. you can simply go ahead and reload it from that partition. Just follow the following steps-
1. Turn off of the pc completely.
2. Disconnect all the external devices and the internet connection.
3. As soon as you turn on the pc start tabbing the F11 key( for Windows Vista).
4. It will take you to the recovery manager and from there you can just follow the onscreen instructions.
