Bought this program which was for a different computer & wanted to install to my new computer. Which is Vista Windows. Is there a way to install this program without it running into an expense.

The answer to the question varies according to the program and it's registration process. Some software requires registration and can only be installed on one system without requiring additional licensing fees, others do not.

Example: Microsoft Office 2007 retail edition can be installed on 2 systems (One Desktop, One Portable) without encountering additional fees.

Some programs will install and will later require activation to maintain full functionality. Some programs require you uninstall the application on the 1st system before installing on the next system.

Aside from trial and error, your best bet is to contact the program vendor directly and find out what your license entitles you to do with the product.
