Computer is lock and forgot password

On some motherboards (mostly desktop PC, not laptops) there are jumpers to reset BIOS password. Try to remove BIOS battery or flash newer version of BIOS, but on some laptops (Lenovo for sure) the only method to remove BIOS password is to replace the motherboard.
The second password is probably for the hard drive - try to put the drive as external. At least you should be able to retrieve the data.
In both cases search for utilities to rest the passwords.

Are you using XP, you can boot in Safe mode and log in as Administartor(usually it does not have any password), so login with Admin account and remove the password of your account. and then restart the system to Normal mode to get your system working.


But unfortunately in case if it is Vista, there is no other option other then formating the whole system.
