Electronic ignition The pilotless ignition on my cooktop doesn't stop clicking. How can this be fixed?

Alien, one of your burner switches either got wet or shorted out. These switches are located on the burner valve itself. Sometimes you can take a hair dryer, pull the knobs of the control valve and dry out the switch. If this doesn't work, more than likley one of the switches gone bad. Catriver...post back.

Thanks Catriver. When I read your diagnosis and repair, I realized I just took a water-soaked cover off a pan of boiling water for iced tea, and set the dripping cover on the rack atop the burner.

When I read your solution, I ran back to my ticking cooktop, and noticed a large pool of water from the pan lid all around the burner knob. So I pulled the water away from the hole with a towel and dried the glass top.

Next, I snatched my daughter's hair dryer, ripped the knob off, and blasted hot air down into the hole at the burner switch. Ticking stopped in less than a minute.

Hi.gud day...tnx for question.im gerbee here in the phillipines, the problem of the the unit is have an dirt or water,& oil coz why the unit is not stoping cliking sound.the best thing to is clean the area were the problem it is,first unplug the unit & turn in off the gas line for the safety..get the vacium & bottle of thinner...first remove all the knobs of the control valve(make sure to remember how to remove the knobs coz if turn back as how you remove it). then drops some thinner located on valve switches(knobs position) 5-10ml,,,then put the vaccium in the place were u drop the thinner to suction the thinner,oil & some dirt.try 2 times for good result...after this if is not work n nid to call an expert tecnician to dismantle & clean the micro swicth one by one(no nid to replace the parts)
