When i turn my computer on, hte power button turns green, but the ittle ligth underneath it just blinks orange and nothing will turn on. what could be wrong?
Try moving the jumpers on the hdd off and on again.
This could indicate a problem with 3 things. 1) Bad power supply. If you have a spare one, try swapping it out with the existing one. Try to get the exact same type that you currently have, to be sure it will provide the right amount of power for your motherboard. 2) Bad memory. If you can get your hands on some spare memory that is the exact same type as your existing memory (say, from a similar machine). Try replacing the existing Memory with the new memory and see if your PC boots. 3) Bad motherboard. Like everything else, you would have to try to get one that is exactly the same as the one you already have to make sure that all your peripherals and components would still work. This web site will let you know what parts are currently in your machine so that you can get the correct replacements. Just enter your model number under the System Lookup section. http://parts.emachines.com/emachines/

I had a similar problem the difference being that the light was orange and sort of flashed, never came on solid, and also made a strange clicking noise. No display at all came up on monitor, and that was it. I replaced memory, hard drive, video card, modem, CDRW, DVDRW, DVDROM, and floppy drive to no avail. I tried to replace power supply, however being the big idiot I usually am, I am much better at dis-assembly than I am at reassembly. I thought I could remember where all the cables were connected, but alas I do not. For some reason I disconnected all the cables from the motherboard and I am having a very difficult time locating a wiring diagram for my pc motherboard. Can any one help?
