SOURCE: Ice forming on bottom of freezer section
The freezer should have a drain hole for the defrost water to flow through. This will drain into a pan outside of the freezer cabinet. If this drain tube becomes blocked it will not allow the water to drain out and it will accumulate in the bottom of the freezer section. You will have to verify that the drain is clear through to the drain pan. this can be done carefully with a piece of stiff wire. There should also be some sort of a water trap on the drain tube to prevent air from entering the freezer compartment through the drain tube.

check to see if the water outlet tube in the freezer is blocked with ice. That is a common problem and there is a fix kit out to solve the ice problem. if the tube is not blocked you need to check the water valve for the ice maker and make sure its good. you will need a volt meter to check it. so check these two things out. And to check to see if the water tube is frozen ,stick a small screwdriver in it and check for a blockage.

We had a similar problem and there was a broken/stripped gear in the icemaker. A&E replaced it to the tune of $150 or so. I don't recall exactly but I recall my husband thinking he could replace the entire icemaker for the price we paid to repair it. The gear make the ice tray flip out the ice once frozen. Good luck, hope that helps a little.

you need a drain tube heater.it is like a chain fence tie made from alluminum, you can actually use the fence ties, wrap one side around defrost heater and stick the other side in drain.that will prevent it from happening again
