New Garmin NUVI 205. I used the Garmin Webupdater and it removed the OS. I can not find the fix on the Garmin site. When I try to use their updater I get a "Corrupted File" Message
The fix is actually pretty simple. Contact Garmin customer support they will send you the fix in an email. The file is a zip file that you unzip to your desk top then you just follow the instructions. I would recommend keeping the file on your desktop just in case it happens again. Once the system is restored then the updater works properly.
Hey!
I just got an answer from Garmin Support Germany and they sent me an file which fixed the problem. Just download http://e-trex.info/fw/nuvi/2x5/nuvi205_085101000280en.rar
It contains a "Updater.exe" and a file called "085100010270.rgn".
Follow the following steps and you should have your nüvi back.
Firstly connect your broken nüvi. Then drag and drop the 085100010270.rgn on the updater.exe. Choose USB as a connection and it should put an old firmware back on your device.
I hope I was able to help you!
Alex

I have the same problem. It starts to boot with the Garmin screen and then reboots itself. It stays in this constant loop. Worked fine just the other day with no patching or anything else. It just started behaving this way. I tried connecting to my PC and was able to trick it long enough for my PC to see it but I got an error about a corrupt update. Help please!!
My name is Henk, I have the same problem, could someone pls help. My email is henkvdm@lantic.net
I have the same problem. I ran through the setup and it was working fine. Garmin then recommended registration and update. Everything appeared to be working fine then the screen went blank and now says systems software missing. I can find no fix on Garmin's webpage and that have limited assistance hours.
Dear Alex,
The link is dead, could you upload it somewhere?
Thank you
