Wii will not power on.

Had a power outage for two minutes and now the wii does not work.

    my wii will not turn on i changed the standby batt but it did not help.

    Thank you so very much! Getting a new power cord did the trick! Helpful just doesn't get it! I'm back Wii-ing again! Thanks a million.!!!!!

    The simple task of unplugging my power cord from both the wall AND the console for 5 minutes worked! Thanks you teckies! :o) Praise God for Smart People!

The power outage could have shorted out your power cord that will carry the charge to the board of the system and is likely to fry the board. the same can happen with your tv but not effect it as much and just carry the charge through your A/V cords into the system.
